Last year, members of Lakeside Volunteer Rescue
Squad volunteered over 22,000 hours and responded to 1,978 9-1-1
calls serving the Henrico County area. All of this was made possible
by the continued and generous support from people like you, caring
members of our community.
Lakeside VRS currently has a fleet of 4 fully stocked
ambulances and one quick response vehicle which are ready 24 hours
a day to serve the community. Over the past year we have made it
a priority to upgrade aging equipment and enhance our communications
system to provide more effective and efficient service to the citizens
of Henrico County. It will come as no surprise that none of this
is free. For example, heart monitors can cost as much as $25,000.
However, equipment like this enables us to save lives and provides
an invaluable service to our patients.
Because of the current economic conditions, the
small amount of funds that we receive from the County and the State
has continued to dwindle. We stay committed, though, to providing
emergency care at no cost to the patient. We will continue to advocate
this policy and we need your financial support to enable us to continue
to provide this life saving service. Any donation that you can provide
will be extremely helpful and always appreciated.
In the past year we have had the privilege of adding
19 new volunteer members to our squad and hope to continue to attract
dedicated and compassionate individuals. Membership applications
are available at our website and at the station. Please stop by
any time for a tour, a blood pressure check or just to talk.
